The South Island Secondary School Athletics Championships were held in Invercargill on the weekend of April 1 and 2. Almost thirty of our athletes competed in this prestigious event which showcased some of the best athletes in the South Island.

In typical Southland fashion, it poured with rain in the morning and was brilliant sunshine in the afternoon. Our athletes did CSC proud with some great performances. Athletes to gain top three placings included:

Junior Gordon - 1st U15 Javelin

Connor Gilliland - 1st U16 High Jump, 2nd Long Jump

Xavier Glover - 2nd U16 Shot Put, 3rd Javelin

Kees Cummings - 2nd U15 High Jump

Libby Mitchell - 2nd U14 Javelin

U14 Girls Relay (Leah Langford, Lily Cochran, Lilly Goodwright, Emma Cubitt) - 3rd

U16 Boys Relay (Junior Gordon, Connor Gilliland, Timata Ropata, Charlie Forde) - 3rd
