On Friday 30th August, 30 of our Pasifika students had the privilege of attending the screening of the feature film Vai.

Vai is a film that spans the breadth of the Pacific telling the story of one woman’s life in eight separate moments from the perspective of eight different Pacific Island cultures. The event was hosted at Haeata Community Campus and the MC was Daisy Speaks (Poet). Two of the main actresses who featured in the movie came to speak with the students and there was a time for Q & A’s at the end. It was a wonderfully enriching experience for our Pasifika students and they relished the opportunity to connect again with their cultural identity through the film and the time spent with the actresses.
