This year we had roughly 70 students from all year groups including some CBHS boys.

We met every Thursday at 2:40pm to rehearse pieces which are Russian Sailors dance, Scheherazade, Finlandia plus a few more. These songs were performed at the music concert on the July 30th. 

This was the sadly the one of the only times we got to play these pieces out apart from senior prize giving where the orchestra helped out with musical support. We played a march while the yr 13 and teachers walked into the auditorium followed by playing the national anthem for all to sing along to. Then half way through prize giving we played Baccanale and ending the night playing gaudeamus igitur while everyone left. This all being due to COVID 19 as annual St Mary’s performance and intermediate road trip were cancelled. However we still enjoyed the getting together every week to learn these pieces and have some fun playing. We want to say a big thanks to Mr Langdon for all the hours and hard work he has put into the orchestra this year. We really do appreciate you even if we don’t always show it.
