CGHS River Stone Travels 16,084 kms to Jerusalem

Ms Clare Fowler —

Visiting the grave of Oskar Schindler was one of the many highlights of my 19 days in Israel attending a seminar for New Zealand Educators at Yad Vashem, the World Holocaust Remembrance Centre in Jerusalem.

An inspiring upstander, Schindler saved the lives of 12,000 Jewish men, women and children. He is buried in Jerusalem to honour him as one of The Righteous Among Nations.

The photo sequence shows Helen O’Connor and myself selecting our stone from the stream and its destination on Schindler’s grave.
