Sport at CGHS

CGHS Publication —

2018 was a great year for sport with 70% of our students participating in sport; we are confident 2019 will be even better!! There are many opportunities this year with our very extensive programme of competitive and non-competitive sports and activities – about 39 to choose from.

Our Sports Prefects this year are Alice Dalzell and Violet Eaton; they are super keen to get more students involved in sport and to get Christchurch Girls’ High School teams and individuals making an impact on the local, regional and national competitions and events.

The Wednesday schools’ summer competitions started this week.

School Sport Canterbury organises most of these and the sports draws weekly.

These can be located by clicking the following link:

http://www.canterbury.schoolsport.org.nz/school-sport-canterbury/

Click on the Weekly Draws and Results tab on the menu at the top of the page and click on draws and results in the drop-down menu.

School Sport Canterbury also have an App which can be downloaded to your phone. This has the draws and lots of other information on it.

Students and caregivers also have OnStream to access the School Sport Canterbury draws – click on the ‘sports bag’ after scrolling down the front page.

Any student playing Wednesday sport may wear their school track suit (sports jacket and shorts in summer) to school on Wednesday instead of their school uniform.

Monday volleyball start: 11 February

CGHS Athletics Sports: 25 February at Nga Puna Wai
