The Auckland Region and Upper North Island floods were a devastating start to 2023.

 Many people were left without homes, access to healthcare, clothing, and food. So, the students in 10DLM wanted to help the people that were worst affected in the Hawkes Bay region by raising money to make some care packages for Gisborne Girls’ High School. 

From washing cars to babysitting, everyone chipped in to do odd jobs around the house to fundraise, we made around $500 to cover the costs of making up these packages. 

They contained some personal care products, lip balms, pens, socks, hair ties, and other little things so that those worst affected know that there are friends in Christchurch thinking of them. 

We were so pleased to be able to raise this much money to support our wider New Zealand community in times of need.
