Te Reo Māori - Level 2

Qualification: NCEA Level 2

Entry requirements: Year 11 Te Reo Māori.

Content/Skills: This course builds on vocabulary and structures from previous years. The four key language skills i.e pānui, kōrero, tuhituhi and whakarongo are further developed by studying topics such as; formal marae protocols, hopes and aspirations, iwi histories and youth issues. This course has a focus on ensuring the extension of the social competence of students when using Te Reo Māori in real life situations.

Assessment:

Internal Achievement Standards: 10 credits in total. (Comprising of a listening and written portfolio) 

External Achievement Standards: 6 credits in total. (Comprising of a reading examination) 

This course offers 6 UE Reading and 6 UE Writing credits.
