This term our Hockey Club was invited to have a friendly pre-season match against a touring team from Dunalistair High School from Chile.

We were lucky to have been given the opportunity to put together a team for a friendly match against the Dunalistair High School Sports Club Team on 23 February. The weather provided winter like conditions on the day with frequent rain showers giving our visitors an authentic NZ sporting experience. 

Both teams put up a great fight, with Christchurch Girls' High School / Te Kura o Hine Waiora taking a victory of 3-1 in a final penalty shoot out. Post match students from each team got to meet each other and talk about the game as well as form some great international friendships.

Dunalistair Sports Club is affiliated with the school of the same name and has 3 campuses across Santiago. They have a vision to connect cultures through sport and it was a pleasure to be able to welcome this group and watch our students easily connect through this shared passion of hockey.

We hope we are able to make this a regular fixture and to continue to welcome groups and students from Dunalistair in the future.
