Congratulations to Cass Hetherington (Year 12) and Grace Nichols (CGHS Old Girl) on receiving an Inspire Foundation grant and scholarship respectively.

At just 16, Cass's kayaking track record in NZ and overseas already included multiple gold, silver and bronze medals an last year's Asia Pacific regatta. Only a yongster in the U18s, Cass is firmly focused on future success at the World Champs balanced with accademic excellence. The grant will help Cass compete in the NZ U18 women's K$at the Kayaking World Champs in Romania. 
Grace Nichols (Recipient of the Clare Washington Memorial Scholarship)
Medical Research
Grace has been awarded top research scholarships towards her passion for special needs dentistry especially around symptoms that effect facial development such as cleft lip and palate. While working as a House surgeon at Christchurch Hospital Grace has also spent time volunteering her dentistry skills in Vietnam. In 2015 Grace achieved a grant to attend a European Conference where she was selected as a Conference speaker. She has gone on to make presentations at international symposiums in Melbourne, Edinburgh and Stockholm. Today's scholarship will assist her accepting a Fellowship to the world leading Great Ormand Hospital in London. Her goal is to treat patients overcoming adversities and one day build a foundation similar to the Fred Hollows legacy. Congratulations Grace on achieving the Clare Washington Memorial Scholarship.
