This week Te Kura o Hine Waiora celebrated Matariki.

The Whānau Committee organised various events throughout the week and also created displays around the school.

Our events started off with a meet the stars on Monday morning and throughout the week there was a star treasure hunt. Wednesday finished the celebrations off with a bang - with a kahoot and presentation in ako and food trucks and Māori waiata at lunch. The nine stars hung in the main entrance all week with a display in the library also.

Matariki was also celebrated at Acland with their own displays and an evening star painting session.

Overall, it was an amazing week of celebrations. A massive thank you to all the staff and students who made this week possible.

Happy Māori new year! We hope you enjoy our first public holiday with friends and whānau.
