In December, 2020, 17 CGHS students competed at the Athletics National Championships in Tauranga.

The athletes gave their absolute best in windy, hot conditions. Notable performances are listed below:

• Madeline Sharpe 5th in Road Race, 7th in 3000m, Junior girls

• Izzi Leifi 10th in Shot Put, 16th in Discus, Junior girls
• Niah Williams 4th in Pole Vault, Senior girls
• Paige Bowman 7th in Pole Vault, Senior girls
