Senior Speech Competition 2020
On Tuesday the 4th of August, the yearly Senior Speech Competition was held. Competitors from Years 11 to 13 performed a variety of speeches on the day before the judges.
The overall winner was Tilly Walbom from Y12 who lulled the audience into a false sense of security, making the audience think she was going to controversially argue the world is flat before turning to what her real speech was about: feminism.
In a very close second was Bella Thornton from Y13 who gave an entertaining speech titled ‘When I grow up’ and in third, Maria Bascunan from Year 12 discussing white privilege.
Our other wonderful competitors included Hawwa Niyaz, Kate Koller, Emily Koller, Suha Abdulridha and Zaimel Saeed.
Congratulations to all students involved, it was a high caliber of speeches this year which made the decision very difficult for our judges.
