Spotlight on Students

CGHS PUBLICATIONS —

This section is to spotlight students who are competitive outside of school. This week's student is: Lola Bryson-Boe

This year Lola competed in the National Schools triathlon in New Plymouth. In a sprint finish for 2nd/3rd & 4th she took 4th place by a split second.

She was then asked by Triathlon NZ to compete in an invitation-only event in Tauranga in April. It was the NZ qualifier event for the Junior World Triathlon held a couple of weekends ago in Montreal.

She missed out on selection, but this indicates the caliber of her abilities, dedication, motivation & commitment.

Last year she was selected to join the only women’s amateur cycling team in NZ. Black Magic Women Cycling is a fantastic team of young women who are achieving at a high level in NZ cycling. The idea is to further develop Elite Women’s Cycling in NZ, creating opportunities, skills and contacts, with the desired outcome for many of the young women being, to race for professional cycling teams overseas.

Well done on all these achievements Lola.  We wish you all the best for your future training.
