Our Christchurch Girls’ High Squash A team traveled up to Palmerston North last week to participate in the 2018 NZ Secondary Schools Squash Nationals (NZSSS).

This was a great opportunity for our team to improve together and play competitively against many different schools from mostly the North island.

We played 4 games each including teams from Marlborough Girls, Tauranga Girls, Orewa College and Hawera High School. Over the 3 days at Tournament we had some very close games, some wins and some loses, overall coming 16th out of around 20 teams. Our own No.1 Caitlin Millard was selected as a non-travelling reserve to a squash tournament in Sydney; well done Caitlin. 

We all enjoyed each game and watching the finals in both Girls and Boys grades. I wish next year’s team at CGHS all the best and hope they can also have the opportunity to compete in the Nationals tournament.
