Invitation To View Colin McCahon's 'North Otago Landscape NO. 19'

CGHS Publication —

We would like to warmly invite you to visit the school on Friday 2nd August during Break 2 (1.20-2.10pm) to meet with a delegation from the Young Old Girls and view the painting gifted to the school in 1970.

We will be celebrating 100 years since the birth of Colin McCahon and 50 years since the Young Old Girls held a ball that led to the purchase of this painting.

‘Colin McCahon is the outstanding figure in New Zealand visual art of the twentieth century. He was a great painter and a profound thinker. He was also a teacher, curator, and critic whose contribution to art in New Zealand is immense.’ – Preface to Gates and Journeys information brochure, Auckland City Art Gallery centenary exhibition.
