# Calculus - Level 2 (MAT201)

**Qualification**: NCEA Level 2

**Entry requirements**: A minimum of 15 credits at NCEA Level 1 Mathematics and Statistics including at least Merit in 1.2 (91027 Algebra), 1.3 (91028: Tables and Graphs), or 1.6 (91031 Geometric Reasoning).

**Content/Skills**: This course has an algebraic approach to solving problems. Topics studied are Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus, Graphing, Sequences and Co-ordinate Geometry The emphasis of this course is on developing mathematical thinking. Concepts are related to real-life situations and contextual problems are used throughout the course.

5 Internal Achievement Standards - 13 Credits

2 External Achievement Standards - 9 Credits
