Last Thursday the Music Department produced our ‘Works in Progress’ concert (a little later than normal, owing to this year’s unusual circumstances) to a large, appreciative audience in the PAC.

Performances ranged from solos and duets to smaller and larger groups, Classical to Rock in style and reflected the wide range of music activities that are available at Christchurch Girls’ High School / Te Kura o Hine Waiora for the students to be involved in.

Orchestras, Choirs, Jazz Band, Rock Bands, solos and duets, this concert had a wide variety of items, including several groups combined with Christchurch Boys’ High School.

The dedication and enthusiasm of the performers, as well as the chance for performers and audience to experience ‘live music’ again meant that everybody enjoyed the experience.

My thanks to the students for their enthusiasm, dedication and the passion that they exhibited and for the enthusiastic support that made for a very successful evening.

As always, I would like to thank Miss Morrison, Miss Tinworth and my Music itinerants for the countless hours that they dedicate to our music students.
