Many students play netball for the school.

Trials are held for all levels at various times in term 1; all players are allocated a team. Teams play on Wednesday afternoons in the inter-school competition and on Saturdays in the club competition (organised by the Christchurch Netball Centre).

Fees range from $200 (most players) to $300 (senior A team). This covers the levies that each player must make to the Christchurch Netball Centre. If you have sisters playing netball, the cost is reduced. There is also a $20 charge (to the school not club) for the Wednesday competition.

The CGHS Netball Club is administered by a committee of parents, the teacher-in-charge, past pupils and two student leaders. If a parent is keen to be on the committee or to coach/manage a team please encourage her or him to get in touch with Mrs Brown.

Girls can be players as well as umpires and coaches (seniors). A good number of girls, from a range of teams, umpire each week.
