On Wednesday evening the Christchurch Girls' High School / Te Kura o Hine Waiora 1XV rugby team played against Avonside in the Miles Toyota Cup final at Ngā Puna Wai.

It was incredibly cold and windy but the girls adapted and put in the work to come away with a 74 - 5 victory.

We were very excited to see some familiar faces in the stands and are super excited for the next stage in our 2023 season, the South Island final. We are extremely grateful to our sponsors who have opened up massive opportunities for our team in the future.

The 2XV also played hard in a 3v4 play offs against Rangi Ruru but unfortunately faced many injuries early in the game which meant they were down to 14 players for the remainder of the game, they ended up finishing the Miles Toyota Cup fourth on the table, which is an awesome achievement. We are all proud of the effort and determination that we have shown throughout the season so far and are excited for what is yet to come.
