On Saturday 30th July, the Christchurch Girls’ High School / Te Kura o Hine Waiora and Christchurch Boys’ High School combined Jazz band competed in the annual Jazz Quest Competition.

The band played four songs: Bye Bye Blackbird, Footloose, Sway and Cold Duck Time. They performed extremely well and gained a Bronze award. 

The Jazz Band has put a lot of effort into preparing for Jazz Quest, getting together every Monday after school to practice, led by Vince Leahy. 

We would like to thank Vince for all the hard work he has put into getting the band into shape and ready for Jazz Quest.
