Fees Free Info to date The current key facts for 2025 students are:

  • Students need to pay for their fees up front through Studylink or themselves

  • If you’re eligible, Fees Free covers the fees for the final year of tertiary study or training in the first qualification you complete after 1 January 2025, up to $12,000 including GST.

  • Fees Free will only cover the final year of one qualification. If you didn’t use $12,000 entitlement for the final year of your first qualification, you won’t be able to access Fees Free again for a second qualification.

  • Students' will be able to confirm their eligibility and claim their Fees Free entitlement after they complete their qualification using the myIR portal which will be available to use from early 2026. Until then, they don’t need to do anything.

Catch Up College 2025

Hagley's Catch Up College enables students to get the credits they need to step into tertiary study in multiple ways.

Catch Up College January Intensive. Students who have missed UE or other tertiary course entry requirements have the opportunity to catch up on credits in time for first semester study. Catch Up offers an individualised programme of quality, face-to-face learning to students from all over the country. Because of the short timeline Hagley is limited in the number of credits that students can enrol for.

They will open for enrolments via this link, when NCEA results have been released in mid January 2025.

Te Kura Summer School - Registrations open in November - check this link   Te Kura accepts short-term registrations over the summer break. Te Kura Summer School is a learning programme available for eligible ākonga (students) who require up to 12 NCEA credits to progress to further study, training or employment.
