Multicultural Festival Performance

CGHS Publication —

On Saturday, 31 July the school kapa haka group was invited to perform at a multicultural festival at the La Vida Centre.

It was an event that was hosted by the Indian Association of New Zealand. With the majority of our senior performers at school balls and various other commitments, it was handed over to a mostly junior group of students with the assistance of our kapa haka leader, Bethany Crossan and Emily May as our only senior students.

Our group was small in number but made up for it by performing with enthusiasm and passion. Their involvement was appreciated by the organisers and the audience. The event itself was a wonderful celebration of culture and diversity and we were very happy to be a part of such a special occasion.

Thank you to all of our performers; Bethany Crossan, Emily May, Sophie Yarham, Sophia Smith, Bina Holmes, Zoe Sullivan, Charlie McCoy, Aromea Lee-Reiri, Ruby Simon, Amelie Martin and Stella Crossan. Thanks also to Taiaho Huia for coming along to play the guitar.
