Waitaha Regional Kī-o-rahi Tournament
Christchurch Girls’ High School/ Te Kura o Hine Waiora and Christchurch Boys’ High School entered two mixed teams into the regional Kī-o-rahi tournament held at Ngā Puna Wai on Friday, March 22nd.
This is the first time we have entered the senior tournament for many years, and the teams were looking forward to participating and developing their skills for the future.
Both mixed teams showed improvement throughout the day, adapting to the fast-paced nature of Kī-o-rahi and utilising skills similar to other sports. Our CGHS/CBHS Tahi team performed well, sharing third place with Te Aratai College. This achievement qualifies them for the national tournament in 2025, highlighting their hard work.
We appreciate Ms Sisifa’s coaching for the girls and Coach Sam’s contributions to the team’s preparation. Their dedication has helped our students succeed, and we thank them for their support. Thank you to all the players from both teams for representing our school admirably and embodying our school values throughout the day.
