Auckland University School of Design

"Kia orana all,

The School of Design would like to invite Pacific and Māori year 12 and 13 students along to an Online Info Whakaaro and Talanoa via Zoom.

About the Bachelor of Design

Design is working to move into a space that guides learning/teaching practices with Māori and Pacific students in mind, creating a culture that is engaging and welcoming. The Bachelor of Design is centred around making and electives give students opportunities to experiment with 3D modelling and printing, laser cutting, electronics, mechatronics, graphics, interactive design, mixed realities, and (more recently) food and game design, as well as hand crafting. Our design program is innovative, looks to challenge social issues and make a difference in communities around Aotearoa and the world, this includes issues that directly affect Māori and Pacific communities. Design has the potential to make real changes in social justice and sustainability and you will be encouraged to do so in this Design Program by collaborating and cooperating with the community. Your creativity will be challenged through utilization of the existing materials around you to create designs less impactful to the environment. In saying this, you will be supported throughout your journey with us, we want to see you succeed!

Date: 3/04/2023

Time: 4:30pm-5:30pm

Zoom link: https://auckland.zoom.us/j/97522665107
