Junior Chirnside Competition

Dr Andrew Williamson, English —

The Junior Chirnside Competition asks students in years 9 and 10 to illustrate a passage of a Shakespeare text that was studied in their English class that year.

Every year the competition is outstanding and this year was no different, making the judges’ jobs extremely difficult. After careful consideration, the Year 9 prize was awarded to Maisie Bennie-Steel for her wonderful illustration of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. The Year 10 prize was awarded to Isla Hindin for a sophisticated interpretation of The Taming of the Shrew.

Congratulations to both our winners, as well as to those who were highly commended in the competition.
