Ryoka Miyake —

The International Committee had a very successful year.

With 31 committee members we were able to run several fundraisers and organise an International week celebrating the many diverse cultures at our school. An International Food Day was held on 2nd April to raise funds for the victims of the  Christchurch terrorist attacks. We provided more than 10 different dishes and snacks from around the world. We donated 100% of the profit - converted to $250 Pak n Save Voucher - to "NZ Gifts of Love and Strength" which supports the Muslim community - more than 31 families.

During International Week we presented an International assembly showcasing some amazing cultural dances and performances successfully in front of the whole school - more than 1,200 people!. We believe this contributed to the students' understanding of the International population at our school making it an even better place.

A Henna tattoo fundraiser was organised for Pink Day on 31st October this will help a student who is a youth ambassador of Hagar organisation, to raise funds for women and children who experienced the traumatic events and also for the Breath cancer society.
