Junior Prizewinners 2019

Cecelia JardineKing and Michelle Pinkney —

One of the traditions we embrace at the start of prizegiving is a moment when as a school we remember those who have gone before us. Among the prizes presented today are the memorial prizes endowed by relations and friends and overseen by the Old Girls’ Association. They keep alive the memory of former pupils and teachers to whom this school was dear.

This year we received a kind donation from Denise McCullock to go towards Prizegiving. Denise, who was known as Denise Carter, was a student at our school in the 1940’s. In 1943 she was an academic prizewinner for her achievements in literature and receiving this award is a fond memory of hers. Denise wanted to make a donation to prizegiving to help create similar positive memories for our current students. Denise’s donation is to be shared across the Junior school special awards.
