Last Friday, Cantrices performed at the Christchurch Town Hall as part of the regional Big Sing Festival.

The Big Sing is a fun nationwide choral competition that over 8000+ secondary school students take part in, singing a wide range of genres and languages. 

Cantrices performed three complex pieces (The Early Morning by David Hamilton, Orion by Susan LaBarr, Dies Irae by Michael Trotta), as well as performing Dies Irae a second time that night at the Gala Concert, which was received very well by the audience.

The results for the top choirs going to the finale in Auckland, or the Cadenza in Timaru are published later this month - wish them luck!
