The Canterbury Westland Science and Technology Fair was held over the weekend of the 24 and 25 September.

Christchurch Girls’ High School/Te Kura o Hine Waiora had one entry in the Year 9 Technology Section – “Forever Floral” by Medha Baadkar. Medha’s aim was to produce a treatment to apply to flowers to keep them from spoiling for longer periods of time compared to conventional methods. Medha impressed the judges and was placed second in the Year 9 Technology section as well as being awarded the Callaghan Innovation's prize for the most innovative exhibit with commercial potential.
