Cantrices To Compete At Big Sing Regionals.

On Friday 11 June Cantrices, our school's auditioned choir, will be performing at the annual Big Sing Regional competition.


 Thirty six students from years 9-13 will be competing in session two starting at 10:45am at Christchurch Town Hall. They will perform three songs - The Moon is Distant from the Sea, a text by Emily Dickinson and composed by New Zealand composer David Hamilton and  Spes meaning Hope, by Mai Makaroff and Kaval Sviri, a traditional Bulgarian folk song.
The evening's Gala concert, starting at 6:30pm, is a celebration of all the hard work from all the choirs around Canterbury and the West Coast. Tickets for both performances are on sale now though Ticketek.

The choir is directed by Miss Jennifer Morrison and Miss Kaitlyn Tinworth.
