Term 1 Library Summary

Jasmine Glennie —

Kia ora from the Christchurch Girls' High School / Te Kura o Hine Waiora Library!

In Term 1, we had the absolute privilege of celebrating International Women’s Day by promoting our fantastic wahine authors and inspirational leaders through incredible displays and a poster competition.

This term has also had a keen focus on finding our Year 9 Readers Cup team, so congratulations again to “Read it & Weep” for their stellar performance in the mock competition held in early March!

The Readers Cup team was chosen based on individual performance, with two students from "Read it & Weep", two students from "Matilda" and one student from "Harry Potter".

We finished the term on a high note, celebrating all of our 101 (Yes, 101!) student librarians by awarding certificates and badges for service to the school library.

We have plenty of exciting events and opportunities planned for Term 2.  Keep an eye out for our book and stationery drive for schools in our wider community, more competitions and awesome displays, and most exciting of all… *drumroll please*… our long awaited Lipsync entry for 2023!
