CGHS Hockey Club is administered by parents and a staff representative.

Trials to select teams are held during Term 1. In 2021 there were 8 CGHS teams catering from absolute beginners to more experienced players. All players are eligible for the 1st XI and 2nd XI teams as they are selected on merit from the trial and past performances. All the teams (except the 1st XI) play in the SSL school competition with games scheduled on Wednesday afternoons/evenings. The 1st XI competes in the SSP competition on Friday nights.

Both 1st and 2nd XI teams participate in national hockey tournaments. In 2019 they competed in the Federation Cup (our team was National runners-up) and the Chris Arthur Cup. Parents are very welcome and encouraged to help in any way from managers to issuing gear or to join the CGHS hockey committee.
