Our New Normal - How School Will Look

CGHS Publications —

School will start back on Wednesday 15th April but will look a little different from our old normal.

Instead of physically coming into school you will need to have a space set up at home where you can “go” to school online.

Your teachers will be contacting you to arrange times to have a face to face check-in during your scheduled class time. This contact may be through e-mails, Google Classroom or Onenote so please check when these meet up times are scheduled and add them to your calendar. Times will vary throughout the week. In your other scheduled lessons, you will be given work to complete, there is flexibility around when this can be done throughout the day.

Senior students will have two face to face check-ins per week. Juniors will have two face to face check-ins for core classes and one for options, Health and Physical Education.

All students will “meet” with their Ako teacher during the Wednesday Ako time slot from 10:20-10:50am.

Please look back at the email sent from Mrs Bailey at the end of the last term about learning at home (A Handy Guide for Students) as it provided useful information about how you may need to organise yourself and your time.

If you do not attend classes someone from the school will be in contact to check up as to why you were unable to attend class. If you are unable to join a class meeting for some reason you will need to contact your classroom teacher or your Dean with a quick explanation.

We are aware that some families are having internet issues, some students may be required to work as they are an essential worker, or some may be looking after younger siblings, so please get in contact with your Ako teacher or Dean and let them know if this is the case for you.

We look forward to seeing you all back at school next week.
