This annual competition is run by the English department and requires students to answer an essay question with reference to Shakespearean texts.

This year students were invited to explore Shakespeare’s female characters. It was great to see entrants discuss a range of characters including Desdemona, Katherina, Bianca, Juliet, Nurse, Lady Capulet, Lady Macbeth and Viola. 

A huge thank you to all those students who entered this year. The quality of work produced made the decision process a difficult one.
