Cell/ Mobile Phones
The Senior Leadership Team and the Board of Christchurch Girls’ High School | Te Kura o Hine Waiora, along with our staff, believe mobile device use at school is a factor that contributes towards preventing us from realising our vision. Cell phones put up barriers that work against effective teaching and learning. They also have broader implications for our school environment, the academic and social experiences of our students and the strength and quality of relationships across our kura.
In line with current legislation, mobile phone use is prohibited during school hours. This ensures the school day is protected as a time for our students to engage with teaching and learning and to communicate with each other face-to-face.
See the Health, Safety and Welfare Policy - Cellphones and Other Personal Digital Devices on the School Docs website accessed via the School website.
