This year both the A and B squash teams competed in the mixed competition against other Christchurch schools.

Our B team was able to receive coaching which allowed them to gain skills and to learn a new sport to enjoy.  Both teams had a mixture of wins and defeats this season, however every game was different and a great experience.

Our A team traveled to Palmerston North to play in the NZ Secondary Schools Squash Championships. This allowed us to play against other girls schools who are at our grade and skill level which meant we could learn a lot more about squash and it helped us improve. We came 16th overall, with our No.1, Caitlin Millard, selected as a non- travelling reserve to a tournament in Sydney which was a great accomplishment. A special thank you to Ms Lawrence for travelling with us and supporting us at every game this season. I hope squash at CGHS becomes bigger as the years go on with more girls wanting to learn and compete in this fast-paced sport.
