Pasifika and Whānau Leavers’ Celebration - Monday, 14 November 2022

CGHS/TKoHW Publications —

After five years together the bond between our Whānau and Pasifika students was clear to see in the tears that flowed freely at our final celebration.

This year we were fortunate to be able to have all our ākonga and their whānau attend this end-of-school celebration in the staff room. Finishing high school is not only a huge achievement for our young people but also for their whānau who have supported them over the last 13 years of schooling.

We started the awards by presenting Stella Crossan and Aromea Lee-Reiri with the ‘Junior Rising Star’ awards for their contribution to our school whānau. Our other Whānau values awards recipients were as follows:

‘Kate Gutry’ Rangatiratanga Award: Madi Smith

Rangatiratanga Award: Shakilah Araia

Manaakitanga: Zoe Sullivan

Whanaungatanga: Georgia Harris

Aroha: Ana-Here Walker

Kelesi Vehekite was the recipient of the ‘Junior Rising Star’ award for her contribution to Pasifika in the school. The other Pasifika award recipients were:

‘Kate Gutry’ Rangatiratanga Award: Gisele McAllister

Manaakitanga: Seruwaia Qalivutu

Whanaungatanga: Fesuia'i Taiulu

Aroha: Teanu Reupena

Congratulations to all of our award recipients.

Thank you again to all of our Year 13 leavers for their continued commitment to our two kaupapa and for their successes in multiple areas across our school. They have been outstanding role models and should be commended for their enthusiasm, positivity and support of our younger students. Lastly thank you to the staff, students and whānau who came along to support our ākonga. We will miss you all.
