NCEA Parent Evening – Tuesday 18th May

CGHS Publication —

All parents who would like to know about how NCEA works are invited to a parent information evening at 6pm on Tuesday 18th May.

The evening will be held in the PAC. The presentation will take no longer than an hour. It is also a chance to ask questions and hear about our assessment rules and procedures.

If you are unable to make it, please watch this 6-minute NCEA video found at the link below. It is a good starting point for parents new to NCEA and is updated annually.

The school prelim examinations are returning to Week 9 of term 3 this year. These continue to be an important part of the assessment calendar as they provide a derived grade for your daughter if issues arise for the external examination at the end of the year.

This year there has been a significant change to the resubmissions of NCEA internal assessment. NZQA have made a formal change to the rules and a student is only able to have a resubmission opportunity if they gained a ‘Not Achieved’ and are able to move to an Achieved grade.

The examination timetable for 2021 is available on the NZQA website and may help with your families' end of year planning - https://www.nzqa.govt.nz/ncea/ncea-exams-and-portfolios/external/national-secondary-examinations-timetable/
