Guta Goldstein Shares Her Story

Clare Fowler, English —

"It is my duty to speak for those who did not survive."

Our packed auditorium was spellbound this week as students listened to 89 year old Guta Goldstein tell her incredible story of her childhood during the Holocaust. Guta's happy childhood came to an abrupt end at the outbreak of WW2. She miraculously survived ghetto life, various labour and concentration camps including Auschwitz. Students were moved by her warmth, vitality and especially hearing about seemingly small acts of justice and kindness which made all the difference to her survival.
