Last weekend, a team of four students, Lily McGonigal, Tayla Breward, Molly Breward, and myself (Tanisha Butt), competed in the South Island Secondary School Squash tournament.

The team had two games on Saturday, the first being against Villa Maria College. The team managed to win two out of our three games and progressed to the semi-finals. Molly ended up filling in for a second Villa Maria team who was short of one player.

The second game on Saturday was against a very strong Greymouth High team. The team fought hard against the higher-seeded team but Greymouth ended up taking the win, winning two out of the three matches.

On Sunday, we played against Marlborough Girls College competing for third place. The whole team performed very well and won all three of our games in three sets, taking out the bronze medal.
