Hollywood: Movies Based On Books
Kia ora!! We had an amazing book week themed "Hollywood: Movies based on Books" in the library and our librarians decorated the library with shiny stars.
As well as promoting books, we also ran competitions with lots of chocolate for prizes!
The Oscar stage, created by Ngarita (Year 13, Head Librarian), received extra attention from the students who enjoyed both the red carpet and the stage.
Guess the pixeled book cover and daily quizzes had lots of mostly correct entries! The library hosted kahoots, colouring competitions, creative craft and watched movies, including the "Barbie" movie.
Students decorated the library with cameras, Oscars, stages, stars and much more. Without dressing up, book week wouldn't have been complete. Thanks to our wonderful library team for all their ideas and hard work.
Ki ngā kaitiaki pukapuka, ka pai koutou!!
Spelling Bee
The Christchurch Girls' High School / Te Kura o Hine Waiora spelling bee competition was held on Friday 28 July. Eleven students participated in the competition and memorised 100 words from the spelling Bee wordlist and other random words.
Mrs Vanessa Payne and I conducted the test, prepared the results and sent these to the organiser. Students completed the Spelling Bee with good scores and had fun participating in this event.
Ka pai team!
