Pauline Grogan-Henderson - Messages of Support

CGHS Publications —

It is with great sadness that we wrote to you on 15 September to let you know that Mrs Pauline Grogan-Henderson, our Head of Learning Enhancement, passed away on the evening of the 14th of September.

Mrs Grogan-Henderson had been teaching at Christchurch Girls’ High School / Te Kura o Hine Waiora for the last five years, following twenty-five years of service to the teaching profession. Pauline has been a valued and respected colleague to all the teaching staff at the school. She dedicated a life of work to education.

We are all going to miss her and send our thoughts and aroha to her husband, Bill, to her children and grandchildren and to the extended family in the loss of their beloved wife, mother and grandmother.

We have placed a memorial booklet at reception for any students or whānau who would like to write a message of support to Pauline's family.  Due to Level 2 restrictions and the need to limit visitors to the school, please email reception and we will add them on your behalf.

Whāngai i tō tāua tuahine, hei tangi i a tāua

Let us nurture our sister and she will mourn for us

This whakataukī encourages people to nurture, love and care for whānau members, as they will do the same for you, even after death. Embedded within aroha is the idea of collective responsibility which emphasizes the importance of whānau to the emotional and physical wellbeing of an individual.
