Relay for Life

Annabelle Kelley and Bethany Crossan —

On the 10th of April, 19 CGHS students participated in The Relay For Life event in North Canterbury.

The Relay For Life is a fundraising event that raises money for the Cancer Society and the vital services and resources they provide to people during their battles with cancer. The event requires at least one member from each team to be walking around a track, at all times, with the event lasting for 12 hours. All of the girls who participated in the Relay For Life put in 100%, with some CGHS participants walking the equivalent of marathons. As a school, we raised an incredible $2,800 and we were able to raise this amount of money with the kind donations and support of our whānau, CGHS teachers, and our community. We are so proud of everyone who took part in this event this year and we are excited to take part next year!
