Polyfest Cultural Festival

Pasifika Prefects —

Polyfest is a cultural festival that includes 24 secondary schools across Christchurch and the southern region.

It enables us to express our Pasifika culture through traditional dances and songs. Established in the year 2000, it is the most recognized Pacific Festival in the South Island. It is a day where students, whānau, teachers, and the wider community are able to watch what each school has been working on, celebrating the many different Pasifika cultures that reside in New Zealand.

Our very own polyfest group at Christchurch Girls’ High School/ Te Kura o Hine Waiora have been working hard and practicing long hours before school, after school, and during the weekends, in preparation to perform our bracket.

Polyfest is on Saturday 16th March at North Hagley Park and we are performing around midday (but times may differ). We also have our Fiafia night on Thursday 14th March which will be held at school, and this is open to anyone, family, friends, and staff. It is an opportunity to come and watch our bracket before our performance day. We would love as many of our students and staff there to watch! Our tutors and girls have worked very hard to bring our bracket together.

Thank you!
