Battle of Bibliophiles - The Christchurch Girls' High School/ Te Kura o Hine Waiora teams participated in the national reading competition last Friday in the library.

In the competition the students needed to read 12 books. The competition was performed online through google form.  To prepare for the competition, we conducted digital Britannica school sessions in the library. The participants had one and a half hours uninterrupted time and up to 2 hours with explanations etc.

The First two sessions, they needed to answer from their assigned books and the last one they needed to answer from Britannica school.

Sayu Weerasinghe, Medha Baadkar, Matisse Foster, Poppy Archer, Isabella Botha and Ayana Cooke were in Team A and Charlotte Bealing, Naishaa Ramwani and Manahil Malik were in the Team B.

RESULTS:   Team A - 4th place in the competition where they got 113 points out of 151.

Congratulations girls for your amazing results in the competition. We will distribute certificates in a couple of weeks.  Ahakoa he iti he pounamu (Although it is small it is a treasure).

Hopefully we will sign up for 2024. We will update details of the Readers Cup and the Battle of the Bibliophiles in February 2024.
