The Art Department is proud to congratulate Ria Fitzgerald on being awarded the prestigious Harry van der Lecq Scholarship for 2024! This scholarship supports the study and practice of Fine Arts, focusing on painting and drawing, at the University of Canterbury.

Ria is currently in her third year of the Bachelor of Fine Arts program, specialising in painting. A former student of Christchurch Girls’ High School / Te Kura o Hine Waiora, Ria excelled as an exceptional art student during her time here.
