Our annual sports were held on Monday 8th March.

After overnight rain the day started sunny and clear. Nga Puna Wai looked fantastic and everyone was enthusiastic about the day ahead. The day was an opportunity for our serious athletes to display their talent to the rest of the school. There were many great events and performances. The Ako, House, Hostel vs School relays were well supported, and were a showcase of colour and performance. As well as championship events, there were the House events where all comers could turn up and have a go. Between the main track and the cafe, the SHE committee held fun events for anyone, very popular for those who wanted to have a go at tug of war or noodle races. A cold wind developed through the day, however overall our CGHS Athletics Sports was a fun day with lots of House spirit and colour. Many of the Championship athletes went on the compete in the Canterbury Secondary Schools event.
