On Friday 9th of April and Saturday 10th of April, the South Island Secondary Schools (SISS) athletics competition took place here in Christchurch at Ngā Puna Wai.

We had 27 athletes competing with some outstanding results from our athletes. The conditions were extremely difficult both days with very strong winds on Saturday. All of the athletes should be proud of their efforts and achievements especially in those tough conditions. CGHS athletics has a great future ahead with all of these talented athletes producing amazing results. We hope to see a lot of these girls continue with their talent and will compete at National Secondary Schools (NZSS) later in December this year. Again congratulations to all the athletes who competed, we are all very proud of you!!
