Last weekend Christchurch Girls’ High School / Te Kura o Hine Waiora held it’s very first Choir Camp in the Performing Arts' Centre.

Students from our auditioned choir, Cantrices, attended the choir boot camp where they learned important vocal techniques and repertoire. It was a great bonding experience, with activities such as karaoke and lip-sync battles helping to build a positive team atmosphere.

The camp allowed the choir to get a head start on their repertoire for upcoming competitions such as The Big Sing. The choir is learning multiple songs this year in a variety of languages. A favourite for the students was definitely J'entends le Moulin, a traditional French-Canadian folk song.

Choir camp was a great opportunity for students from all year levels to get to know each. It was a huge success and we cannot wait for round two next year!
