Abanti Antara —

Kia ora! We are observing Eid, Children Books and Sign Language Week in our library.

Eid Mubarak

The word "Eid" means festive, or celebration and "Mubarak" means blessed, which translates to "a blessed celebration". We have observed Eid ul Fitr, the biggest celebration after Ramadan (a dawn to dusk fasting month), this year. Student librarians made fabulous displays in the library on Eid. Muslim students  enjoyed their culture in the library. This year several Muslim students have signed up for the librarian team.  They are enjoying friendships and sharing their cultures in the library.

Children Books And Authors

Head librarian, Ngarita MacKenzie made an amazing poster for the children books display. We are promoting children’s books and authors this week. Students are enjoying and remembering their childhood books.

Sign Language Week

Sign language is essential for Deaf people in education, health, workplaces and to be able to take part similarly in the world. We have displayed a poster, in the library on sign language week.
